Going away to camp is a wonderful way to spend the summer in a carefree, healthy, and playful environment. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the "real" world, camp creates an idyllic atmosphere that encourages and nurtures young people during a critical time of development. CSM is a place where lasting friendships are made, where creativity and adventure are cultivated, and where people return year after year to reclaim some of that "magic."
Camp Staunton Meadows is a traditional summer camp in Virginia that promotes community, leadership, and stewardship. We de-emphasize competition and work to enable each camper to safely take risks and make personal choices from which they learn important life lessons.
The essence of Camp Staunton Meadows' philosophy is reflected in our simple motto:
We strive to teach campers new skills and expose them to new and interesting environments and ideas. Our well-trained staff creates an atmosphere of curiosity and excitement that makes LEARNing a natural result of everyday experiences. Healthy attachments and a passion for living take root here, and grows. Things that are LOVEd become a part of our LIVEs. Campers leave at the end of a session with more than just a t-shirt or lanyard to take home with them. A sense of self confidence, great memories, new interests, new friends, and joyful experiences are those intangible gifts that a session at CSM can give.
